Selection criteria for T.U.R. in blader tumours
In this paper we are presenting the steps for a thorough evaluation, including the study of the patient, of the tumoural mass and of the reactive capacity of the patient, which have permitted us to establish criteria for the selection of patients with vesical tumours, amenable to endoscopic surgery.
The selection of the patients has been done taking general conditions into account, due to the condition of the patient, the resection ability of the surgeon, and local conditioning factors such as tumour grade, number and size of the growths, as well as their location.
These selection criteria have evolved from over 1000 cases of vesical tumours treated by endoscopic surgery by the authors over a period of about six years; finally some comments on the statistical data obtained by this study are presented.
