Ponction guidée sous échoendoscopic (PGEE) et pathologie médiastinale : quelles aiguilles pour quelles cibles?
EUS-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy (EUS FNAB) and mediastinal disease: What needles for what targets?
Within the past ten years the efficacy and safety of FNAB, mean of tissue acquisition via fine needle aspiration, have been demonstrated for the diagnosis of peridigestive masses. Its simplicity and performance have allowed the ultrasonography to become indispensable compared to the other imaging modalities particularly in cancerology. Its role in mediastinal disease management is one of the best demonstration of its usefulness, with demonstrated clinical impact when the good indications and optimizing needle technique are known.
